the writer and the book
upon hearing me, my mom sometimes has said i'm like a book and she often does it with the expression of those who don't want to read.
in the moment, i'd refuse it because i've never seen myself as a book, I Am alive and i sound like a book to those who have never known nor touched their inner wisdom, because they believe knowledge is limited to books. The greatest wisdom is experienced, pondereded, reflected on as if the invisible material of your life and the journeys of your soul become that which your mind and heart chew together, and they absorb the nourishment from it, drop by drop. Day by day, it trasforms in the knowing of a lifetime. When you find the courage to ask for wisdom to the One that sits eternally above your soul, you discover that knowing comes from a far deeper place than the intellect. All answers are given to those who ask, and to those who pause, and to those who seek to understand the truth beyond thought, and to all who dig deeper within themselves and reach out for the pain in their hearts and as they learn to listen, they also learn to live and when you learn to live, you know how to look at things again and that which confused you or troubled you cannot shake you no more.
As i think again of what my mother said, I realize I am indeed the one who writes but I may also be the books that come to life through me. Books aren't for everyone but they don't need book lovers or disinterested readers to exist. they only need a soul who listens to the creator's voice and carry that love into everything they write, touch or look at.
the writer's impelling need to express the gentle nudging of God's song in their heart, isn't it our greatest gift...when it is forgotten, it condemns us to a bleeding no one can see.
If i do not speak of God's love, who will?
