the shift that changed everything
Some time ago, I realized something that changed everything for me. I knew there was no going back anymore. It was the moment I realized that even if I had given up on myself for many years, God had never given up on me.
(To be more accurate, I refer to that "I" as the version of me, the personality that had been shaped by life events, choices, programming, and had given up until then).
And when you realize that God is never going to give up on you, never going to stop loving you, (just because of stuff you believe to be greater than that love, stuff you've done like mistakes, failure, or worse, "sins"), never going to leave you behind, or abandon you, then your natural response is devotion.
You spontaneously want to respond to that Love, to connect back to that Love, to reciprocate that Love, to engage with it, to embody that Love. So you naturally want to devote yourself to God. There's a new found sense of strenght where you no longer give up on yourself, you know God is by your side and you don't want to give up on Life. Your desire is to serve Life itself.
When I say the word God, I do not say it in the religious, mainstream sense. I truly mean God, the Creator, God the Unconditional Love, God, the One beyond any sort of ideology, concept, explanation...that cannot be put into words...you can only experience That. I believe there will be a time when I'll no longer have to explain this detail, because God will not be intended in the religious sense anymore, but experienced as the True State, the True Reality of who we are, as children of God. May All be blessed with the remembrance and embodiment of they truly are.
