A Ray from the Inner Realm

reading improves writing

I'm learning to write, and I know I could expand my vocabulary by reading, but I rarely have the time and energy to read these days, except for newsletters and other blogs. I'd like to dive back into reading books, real ones. Nowadays, I read online because it's more affordable and there are no libraries in my area (yeah, there used to be one but it disappeared, a tragic event). Reading from a screen is not an enjoyable experience when you already have to do many other things on it. Another way is to practice, and that's why I started this blog. Sometimes, I get worried about how I express things or if they're clear enough. Those times come as a reminder that I'm here for myself. Even if people come around to peek at my blog, or have their own opinion about it, it's okay. I have no power over how other people see me, and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Also, why worry at all? I don't think the content of my posts is something to "hide" or anything crazy. I can be peculiar, sure, and that's how it's supposed to be. Only by being myself can I be happy and fulfilled. Trying to "fit in" is a strategy that we can unlearn as we grow and mature. But yes, I'd love to spend some time reading books in a valley full of flowers, with the sunlight on my back and tranquillity all around. It looks like the real luxury is time. And a valley full of flowers. And tranquillity. I pray we all get to live our own desired luxuries, the true ones that replenish our souls.
